Under the leadership of Mr. Vijay Kumar Singh, the group laid its foundation in the year 1983 in the field of explosives manufacturing.
Navbharat Explosives Co. Pvt. Ltd. was formed to meet the gap between supply and demand of explosives.
1988: Navbharat Fuse Co. Pvt. Ltd. was established to
augment the increasing demand as also to extend the product line to PETN,
Detonating Fuse, and Cast Boosters.
1991: Bharuch Nitrates in Bharuch, Gujrat, for converting 10,000
MT of AN Melt into Solids - major input - to save on transportation cost.
1995: Vishal Packaging at Raipur, for manufacture of 100 MT of
Polythene Bags and one million numbers multi layer card board boxes to cater to the
packing needs of both the explosives units. Navbharat Fuse Co. Pvt. Ltd.
became Limited company under U/S 43(A) of Companies Act, 1956.
1996: Acquired "Active Chemicals", Raipur for manufacturing Sodium
Nitrate and Calcium Nitrate, critical inputs.
1997: Navbharat Explosives Co. Pvt. Ltd.
became Limited company under U/S 43(A) of Companies Act, 1956.
1998:
To keep pace with the technological advancement, physical facilities were
established in both the units at Raipur in 1998 for manufacturing Site Mixed
Explosives, the future of the explosives industry.
To give locational advantage to the customers, the first dispersed unit, in
close proximity to the consuming point, started production in 1999 at Waidhan,
in Northern Coal Fields, the hub of coal mining activity, with a capacity of
30,000 MT. This was followed by Support Plants at Dhanpuri Distt. Shahdol (M.P.),
Gevra Distt. Korba (C.G.) and Talcher Distt. Angul (Orissa).
Navbharat is now an ISO 9001 Certified Group. To augment the R&D efforts Navbharat entered an agreement with Central Mines
Research Institute (CMRI) to develop cost-effective quality products for deep penetration
into the market. With well-knit marketing and distribution network, Navbharat is in the big
league, and is a force to reckon with in the explosives industry.
