Mr. P.R.Tripathi has a meritorious scholastic record throughout his academic carrier. He did B.Sc. (Hons) in Mining Engineering and Associate ship of Indian School of Mining (AISM – Mining)

Shri U. Kumar did First Class Hons, B.Sc.(Mining) from Bihar University. He hold first class Colliery Manager’s Certificate of competency from the DGMS, Dhanbad. He did Associateship of Indian School Of Mines, Dhanbad (AISM), First Class with Hons.

He had 40 years of varied experience in Coal Mining, Washries and Power Projects. He held top positions as Chairman cum Managing Director of South Eastern Coal Fields and Northern Coal Fields of Coal India Limited, the biggest public sector undertaking in India.

He is member of several professional organizations like MGMI, IMMA, NIPM and so on and has been conferred special recognition and awards by these professional bodies.

His publication of papers include Resettlement of Project Affected Persons, Computerization in Coal Minings, Lime Stone Mining in M.P., Energy Conservation and Management, Disaster Management, Beneficiation of Power Grade Coal, Quality Management in Coal Mines, to mention but a few

He traveled widely all over the world as a Member / Leader of Government / Coal Indian Delegation.

After retirement he worked as Chief Executive of a Coal Washing Company and conceptualized, constructed and commissioned first non-coking coal washry in the country.
